Okinawa Karate Kyokai is an educational non‑profit organization registered in the state of Oregon. The association was first established in 1991 in both Washington and Oregon.
The association currently has two affiliated dojos (training centers) in the Portland metropolitan area, with the primary dojo in downtown.
The sole purpose of the Okinawa Karate Kyokai is to practice and maintain Okinawan Goju‑ryu Karate, and to provide a safe environment in which students can practice. Association fees are kept low to ensure that the association does not become a commercial venture and that the cost of the training is not an obstacle to anyone who wants to learn this art.
Okinawa Karate Kyokai has served a diverse range of students, including law enforcement personnel. Sessions are open to all irrespective of age and skill level.
